Bastille built their reputation fast. The London indie pop four piece, fronted by Dan Smith, scored a UK number one debut album with Bad Blood in 2013, and the single "Pompeii" became one of those songs that seemed to be everywhere, peaking at number two in the UK and number five in the US. They won the BRIT Award for Best Breakthrough Act in 2014, and their performance at the ceremony, a remixed "Pompeii" alongside Rudimental, sent Bad Blood straight back to number one. Since then Bastille have kept pushing the sound forward across five studio albums. Wild World arrived in 2016, followed by Doom Days in 2019 and Give Me the Future in 2022, with their fifth album, titled "&", landing in October 2024. With over eleven million records sold worldwide, they are one of the more consistent acts to come out of the British indie pop scene of the early 2010s.
