The Wombats built their reputation on hooky, self aware indie pop with a sharp sense of humour, and their signature track 'Let's Dance to Joy Division' still follows them everywhere. The Liverpool trio, made up of Matthew Murphy, Tord Øverland Knudsen, and Dan Haggis, have been at it since 2003, releasing a string of albums that consistently landed well with critics and fans alike. Their debut A Guide to Love, Loss and Desperation put them on the map in 2007, and they kept the momentum going through This Modern Glitch, Glitterbug, and Beautiful People Will Ruin Your Life. Fix Yourself, Not the World, released in 2022, was their biggest commercial moment yet, hitting the top spot on the UK Albums Chart in its first week. 'Greek Tragedy', from Glitterbug, also took on a second life thanks to remix culture and found a whole new audience years after its original release. The Wombats have always had a knack for songs that sound breezy but hit harder than you expect.
