The Vaccines (GB)

About

Also known as: Vaccines

The Vaccines have been one of the more reliably exciting guitar bands to come out of London since their debut album landed in 2011 as the best selling debut record in the UK that year. Their sound pulls from the Ramones, the Strokes, and the Jesus and Mary Chain, filtered through a sharp indie rock sensibility that earned them early spots supporting acts like the Arctic Monkeys, Rolling Stones, and Red Hot Chili Peppers. Their first single, "Wreckin' Bar (Ra Ra Ra)", clocked in at under a minute and a half and somehow felt exactly right for it. Six studio albums deep now, from What Did You Expect from the Vaccines? through to Pick Up Full of Pink Carnations in 2024, the band has kept evolving without losing that punchy core. They have sold two million records worldwide, and recent uploads including "Love To Walk Away" and "Sometimes, I Swear" suggest they are still very much in motion. Few bands that broke the way they did have managed to stay this consistent.
