Train built their reputation the hard way, grinding through San Francisco's club scene in the mid 1990s before landing a deal with Columbia Records. Their self titled debut went platinum, but it was the 2001 album Drops of Jupiter that turned them into a genuine phenomenon. The title track spent 54 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100, won two Grammys including Best Rock Song, and went on to earn RIAA Diamond certification, a rare feat for any act. After a three year break from recording, the band came back strong with Save Me, San Francisco in 2009. The album spawned "Hey, Soul Sister", which hit 13x platinum in the US and reached number 3 on the Billboard Hot 100. Train kept the momentum going with California 37 in 2012, which gave them another big hit in "Drive By", and they have kept releasing music ever since, with their most recent studio album AM Gold arriving in 2022. Over their career they have sold more than 10 million albums and 30 million tracks worldwide.
