About
Also known as: Mumford and Sons
Mumford & Sons built their reputation on a sound that blends folk, rock and Americana into something that fills arenas as naturally as it does festival fields. The London band's debut, Sigh No More, shot to number two in both the UK and the US, driven by the relentless banjo stomp of "Little Lion Man", and a Grammy stage performance alongside Bob Dylan and The Avett Brothers turned them into a genuine stateside phenomenon. Their second album, Babel, went one better, debuting at number one in the US and winning the Grammy Award for Album of the Year, the fastest selling rock album of its decade. With Wilder Mind in 2015 they swapped the banjos for electric guitars, broadening their sound considerably, and Delta followed in 2018. The band is now a trio after Winston Marshall's departure in 2021, and they have kept releasing music, with Rushmere arriving in 2025 and a collaboration with Hozier called "Rubber Band Man" serving as the lead single from their sixth album Prizefighter.
