About
Young Gun Silver Fox take the soft rock sound of the late 1970s West Coast and rebuild it from the ground up in a London studio. The duo pairs British singer Andy Platts, known for fronting soul pop act Mamas Gun, with American multi instrumentalist Shawn Lee, who has dozens of releases to his name including the soundtrack for the video game Bully. Their music leans into funk grooves, crisp horn sections, and Platts' falsetto, drawing on heroes like Steely Dan, Shuggie Otis, and James Brown. Glide Magazine called their 2018 album AM Waves "the best yacht rock LP of the last 35 years," and Pitchfork singled out its track "Lenny" for particular praise. They followed that with Canyons in 2020, which leaned even harder into brass, then Ticket to Shangri La in 2022, and their fifth album Pleasure in 2025.
