There are strong signs that Fontaines D.C. will headline Best Kept Secret next year. A leaker has confirmed the booking, and the official lineup is expected to drop next week.

Fontaines D.C. is reportedly set to headline Best Kept Secret 2027. According to Festileaks, everything points that way: the band's tour schedule already seemed to hint in that direction, and now an insider is leaking the booking as well. Nothing is officially confirmed yet, but the festival's line up announcement for Hilvarenbeek is expected next week.

The Irish post punk band is doing another festival run in 2027, and the question was which Dutch festival would get picked. Based on the tour dates announced week by week, a few options could already be crossed off. During Pinkpop the band plays in Italy, and Down The Rabbit Hole dropped out after the UK tour was announced, with big shows in Manchester. Lowlands remains possible on paper, but the band played there in 2025, so a return seems too soon. That leaves Best Kept Secret, a festival where Fontaines D.C. might fit best anyway as a closing act on one of the days.

The organisers have made no secret for years that they'd love to book the band. After a strong set supporting The Strokes at Best Kept Secret 2022, it now looks like the step up to a closing slot is being made. The booking is confirmed by Gavin Leigh Davis on Instagram. He's a well known industry leaker who has regularly leaked shows early in recent times, including tours by Sam Fender, Stevie Wonder, RAYE and Radiohead. His track record is considered pretty reliable, although there have been a few misses along the way.

Best Kept Secret itself also came out of hibernation this week. On Friday the festival updated its website and socials and opened pre registration. Anyone who signs up will be the first to hear the opening names, gets early access to ticket sales and accommodation booking, and has a chance to win a luxury two person tent on the Secret Fields during the presale. The organisers say the first acts will be announced soon.

Dutch fans can catch Fontaines D.C. live in the coming months anyway: on Tuesday 10 November the band plays the Ziggo Dome, a show that has been sold out for months. Last week their fifth album Dopamine Chamber came out, featuring the track 'Where Is Gone?' with Rosalía, among others. The thirteenth edition of Best Kept Secret falls on the same weekend as Northside in Denmark, and other names like Turnstile, Phoebe Bridgers and Patti Smith are also doing the rounds in the rumours, but those aren't confirmed either.
