Airbourne (AU)

About

Also known as: Airborne

Airbourne are the kind of band that makes you reach for a cold beer and turn the volume up. Formed in Warrnambool, Victoria, in 2001, the Australian hard rock outfit built their reputation on a relentless, no frills sound that draws heavily from AC/DC, Rose Tattoo and the Angels. Their debut album Runnin' Wild announced them internationally, charting in Australia, the UK, the US and beyond, with Too Much, Too Young, Too Fast even landing on the Guitar Hero World Tour soundtrack. They kept the momentum going with No Guts. No Glory. and Black Dog Barking, both cracking the top 5 in Germany, a country that genuinely embraced them. Breakin' Outta Hell went even further there, peaking at number 3. Their fifth studio album, Boneshaker, landed in the German top 10. Classic Rock magazine called them shamelessly derivative and gloriously entertaining, which honestly sounds like exactly what they are going for.
