About

Anna Lapwood has a knack for making the organ feel genuinely exciting, which is no small feat. She became the first official organist of the Royal Albert Hall in May 2025, having already been an associate artist there since 2022. That relationship with the Hall produced one of her most talked about moments: an unexpected late night collaboration with electronic artist Bonobo, where band members heard her rehearsing in the early hours and invited her to join their sold out show the next evening. The resulting video clocked over 5.6 million views on TikTok, earning her the nickname "the TikTok Organist". Beyond the viral moments, Lapwood is a serious musician with a wide range of releases including Luna, The Waiting Sky and the 2025 Sony Classical album Firedove. She spent nearly a decade as Director of Music at Pembroke College, Cambridge, conducting choirs, founding the Pembroke College Girls' Choir, and championing access to classical music. She has also performed at the Royal Festival Hall, St Thomas Church in New York, and presented BBC Proms coverage on television, all while being a BBC Radio 3 contributor.
