About

Archive started life in 1994 as a trip hop outfit in London and have spent three decades gradually drifting somewhere much stranger and bigger. Their 1996 debut Londinium was all dark beats and string arrangements, but by the time Craig Walker joined for You All Look The Same To Me, Noise and the soundtrack to the French film Michel Vaillant, they were leaning into psychedelic, progressive territory. Since 2006's Lights they've worked as a collective rather than a frontman band, with Darius Keeler and Danny Griffiths at the core and a rotating cast of vocalists. Controlling Crowds, from 2009, is their high point on the charts, hitting number one in France and Greece. Its single Bullets even turned up in the teaser trailer for Cyberpunk 2077. They later went fully independent on their own Dangervisit Records for With Us Until You're Dead, then pushed things further with Axiom, a forty minute short film paired with an album.
