Also known as: Azniv Korkejian
Bedouine, the stage name of Azniv Korkejian, takes its cue from the Arabic word for the nomadic desert dwellers of the region, and it fits: she has lived across Syria, Saudi Arabia, the US, and eventually landed in Los Angeles. Her 2017 self titled debut is full of that wandering spirit, weaving in field recordings from her grandmother's home in Syria and even a song written in Western Armenian, the dialect her own family speaks. The record was made at producer Gus Seyffert's studio, and he returned for her second album Bird Songs of a Killjoy in 2019, a twelve track set so steeped in bird imagery that Bedouine herself joked about being self conscious about it. Her third album Waysides, released in 2021, drew from demos stretching back fifteen years, a kind of personal excavation she described as spring cleaning. Her fourth album Neon Summer Skin arrived in 2026.
