About

Blanks, the project of Dutch musician Simon de Wit, built his name on YouTube before most people knew who he was. His 1980s style remake of Post Malone's Better Now racked up millions of views and put him on the map internationally, and Armin van Buuren personally asked him to do a Beatles version of Blah Blah Blah. That DIY, genre bending sensibility carried straight into his own releases, which blend indie pop with retro influences and a genuinely warm, melodic feel. His debut album Nothing Lasts Forever and That's OK came out in 2021, and he won the Music Moves Europe Award early in 2022. Behind the scenes, Blanks is just as active as a songwriter and producer for others. He co wrote Atlas for Pommelien Thijs, which in 2025 broke the Belgian chart record as the longest running number one in Ultratop 50 history. He also co owns the indie label Excited About Music and the management company 97PM. More recently he teamed up with Hungarian artist Azahriah, releasing the single Don't Be Afraid in March 2025, followed by That's What I Love About You in June 2025.
