About
Also known as: Cameron Donald Whitcomb
Cameron Whitcomb's path to music is a genuinely unusual one: he went from posting karaoke videos on Reddit to landing a deal with Atlantic Records, with a stint on American Idol season 20 somewhere in between. The Canadian singer and songwriter from Nanaimo, British Columbia has built a sound that blends country with folk pop, and his songwriting pulls from real experience, covering addiction, mental health, and the wreckage of bad relationships without flinching. His 2024 single "Quitter", written about his own battle with addiction and getting sober, became his first entry on the all genre Canadian Hot 100 and got radio play in Canada, the UK, and Australia. His debut album The Hard Way arrived in late 2025, and the momentum has kept building. At the 2025 Canadian Country Music Association Awards he tied for the most nominations and took home Breakthrough Artist or Group of the Year plus the Fans' Choice Award. His live shows have a reputation for being frenetic, which makes sense given how personal his material is.
