Cory Henry plays the kind of music that makes people stop what they're doing. The Brooklyn born organist, pianist, and producer built his reputation as a core member of Snarky Puppy before stepping out on his own in 2018 with Art of Love, recorded with his band The Funk Apostles. His solo work draws from a deep well of gospel, funk, and jazz, and his 2021 album Best of Me found him playing Hammond B3, Moog synthesizer, and Harpejji while channeling heroes like Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, and James Brown. His reach goes well beyond his own records. Quincy Jones picked him to headline the Soundtrack of America series at The Shed in New York City. He co wrote and co produced the Beats Electronics track featuring Sha'Carri Richardson alongside Kanye West and Dr. Dre, and he played organ on West's Donda. Collaborations with Imagine Dragons, Rosalía, Frank Ocean, and Jazmine Sullivan round out a career that keeps crossing genre lines.
