About
Danielle Ponder swapped the courtroom for the stage, and it shows in the weight of her voice. A former public defender from Rochester, she left that job in December 2021 to go all in on music, and things moved fast. Within a year she was on Late Night with Seth Meyers, and her debut album, Some of Us Are Brave, landed in 2022 with a mix of soul, R&B and trip hop. The record kept growing after release. A deluxe edition followed in 2023 with a new song, Roll the Credits, plus a demo, live recordings and a remix by Georgia Anne Muldrow. That track ended up in Apple's iPhone 16 campaign and over the end credits of Dragon Age: Veilguard. She also wrote and performed the theme for the Apple TV miniseries Manhunt, and played Lollapalooza in 2023.
