About
Dean Owens is a Scottish singer songwriter with nine solo albums to his name, recorded in locations including the United States and Italy. His music moves across americana, folk, roots rock and what some describe as desert noir, and he has collaborated with artists such as Calexico, Grant Lee Phillips and Gaby Moreno. He is a familiar presence on the Dutch live circuit, suggesting an audience that has followed him closely over the years. When he performs with his band The Sinners, the sound expands into something more muscular, built around horn arrangements and his distinctly soulful voice. The album Our Favourite Sins, recorded live in the studio, captures that collective energy and brings together songs that crowds have responded to strongly. Together they trace a musical line that runs from Scotland all the way to the American desert.
