Dragged Under came out swinging with their debut album The World Is in Your Way, which cracked the Top 10 on the US Alternative iTunes charts and racked up over 10 million streams on Spotify. Formed in Seattle in 2019, the band describes their sound as three parts punk rock to one part metal and hardcore, drawing on influences like Sum 41, Rise Against and the Offspring. That blend has earned them tags like melodic hardcore and metalcore, though there is a looseness to their energy that keeps things feeling more punk than clinical. They built momentum fast, hitting the road as a supporting act for The Used and later joining Beartooth and Wage War on tour. Their second album Upright Animals followed in 2022, preceded by a collaboration with Spencer Chamberlain of Underoath on the single Brainwash Broadcast. The band was founded by vocalist Anthony Cappocchi alongside guitarists Ryan Bruce and Josh Wildhorn, and has gone through a few lineup shifts while keeping that core punch intact.
