About
Beartooth started as a one man studio project when Caleb Shomo, then still playing keyboards and guitar in metalcore act Attack Attack!, began writing songs under his own steam. Once he left that band he went all in, recruiting a full lineup and building Beartooth into something far bigger than he ever planned. Shomo sings, produces and plays virtually everything on record, and that hands on approach gives the band a tight, personal sound that sits somewhere between metalcore and post hardcore, driven by melodic hooks and chorus first songwriting that sticks in your head long after the record stops. Signed to Red Bull Records since 2013, the band rolled out a string of well received albums starting with Disgusting in 2014, through Aggressive, Disease and Below, before dropping their fifth studio album The Surface in October 2023. Tracks like Riptide and I Was Alive show the band leaning hard into that mix of abrasive energy and undeniable melody that has become their calling card.
