About
Frankie and the Witch Fingers started out in Bloomington, Indiana, playing basement shows, and grew into one of the more restless psychedelic rock acts around, eventually settling in Los Angeles. Their sound pulls from garage rock, acid rock, krautrock, jazz, and funk, and it keeps shifting: early releases like their cassette debut Sidewalk leaned into surf and garage vibes, while later albums pushed harder into sprawling, face melting territory. Brain Telephone blended blues inflected rock with southern rock grit, and ZAM brought in krautrock and funk influences for a more rhythmically driven feel. Monsters Eating People Eating Monsters was a concept album where every track flows into the next without a break, which gives you a sense of how seriously they take the listening experience as a whole. The band has gone through plenty of lineup changes over the years but the core creative drive remains intact. They are signed to Greenway Records and have collaborated with producers like Zachary James of Twin Temple along the way.
