About
Greg Howe is the guitarist who went from shred era darling to jazz fusion obsessive, and somehow also ended up on stage with some of the biggest pop acts around. His 1988 self titled debut for Shrapnel Records is still his best seller, and Guitar World later ranked it tenth on its list of all time shred albums. By Introspection in 1993 he had moved away from straight instrumental rock toward a fusion sound built on fast left hand legato, tapping and odd time signatures, with Allan Holdsworth as a big influence. The session résumé is wild. He replaced Jennifer Batten on parts of Michael Jackson's HIStory World Tour, played with Enrique Iglesias, toured with 'N Sync and later Justin Timberlake, and has worked with Christina Aguilera and Rihanna. Solo highlights include Hyperacuity, Extraction with Dennis Chambers and Victor Wooten, and Wheelhouse in 2017. He also plays in Protocol, whose Protocol 4 album earned a Grammy nomination.
