About
Iron Savior built their whole identity around a genuinely wild concept: a self aware space vessel and its connection to the lost civilization of Atlantis, a story that unfolds across multiple albums. The Hamburg power metal outfit came together in 1996 when multi instrumentalist and producer Piet Sielck linked up with Kai Hansen, his former Helloween bandmate, and Blind Guardian drummer Thomen Stauch. Critics have drawn comparisons to Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, and Queensrÿche, and Hansen's involvement brought a clear Gamma Ray and Helloween flavor to the records he appeared on. Piet Sielck has been the constant driving force, now the only founding member still in the lineup after years of changes. The band has put out a serious body of work, 16 studio albums including three re recording projects, a cover album, a live record, and a string of singles and EPs. Their most recent studio effort Deathbringer and a cover album called Awesome Anthems of the Galaxy show the band showing no signs of slowing down.
