About
Also known as: J.B. Meijers, Jan B E L Meijers, Jan Bart Meijers
JB Meijers is the kind of musician who turns up everywhere and somehow fits right in. The Delft born multi instrumentalist, producer and singer signed his first record deal with Virgin Records at seventeen, spent years honing his craft in Amsterdam studios, and eventually co produced one of the Netherlands' biggest Eurovision moments: The Common Linnets' "Calm After the Storm", which placed second at the 2014 contest. That track came out of a working relationship with Ilse DeLange that started through a stage musical based on the book De Tweeling. His solo catalogue spans three albums, from Catching Ophelia through to The Beginning and Everything Before in 2021, the same year a documentary about him, JB's Paradise, was released. Beyond his own records, he has worked alongside names as varied as Money Mark, Spiritualized, Beastie Boys and Giant Sand, and took home the Buma Cultuur Pop Award twice, in 1996 and 2014.
