About
Josh Levi treats r&b as a full body experience, weaving together multi part vocals, playful beats, and choreography he considers just as central to his work as the music itself. His sound pulls from the r&b and pop of the late nineties and early 2000s, with tight drums and basslines that feel rooted in 2003 but land squarely in the present. The hooks tend to get into both your head and your feet at the same time. Originally from Houston, he later moved to Los Angeles to develop his craft as a singer, songwriter, and dancer. He signed to Atlantic Records through Raedio, the label run by Issa Rae, and broke through to international audiences with "BIRTHDAY DANCE", a track that distils exactly what he does best: glossy r&b and pop with a clear nod to the sounds of the early 2000s.
