Few artists have landed quite as hard out of the gate as Khalid. His 2016 debut single "Location" and its follow up "Young Dumb & Broke" both cracked the Billboard Hot 100 top 20 and went diamond, setting up his debut album American Teen for a quadruple platinum run and a Grammy nomination for Best Urban Contemporary Album. His voice also turned up on Logic's "1 800 273 8255" alongside Alessia Cara, earning him a Song of the Year nod at the Grammys. From there, Khalid kept stacking hits. "Love Lies" with Normani and "Eastside" with Benny Blanco and Halsey both broke records on the Mainstream Top 40. His second album Free Spirit debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, and its lead single "Talk" became his highest charting solo song, reaching number three and landing yet another Grammy nomination, this time for Record of the Year. Time magazine named him one of its 100 Most Influential People in 2019.
