About
Lambrini Girls named themselves after a cheap perry brand that one half of the duo, Phoebe Lunny, memorably described as "toilet wine for sluts", which gives you a pretty good read on their vibe. The Brighton two piece, Lunny and Selin Macieira Boşgelmez, play a noisy, confrontational brand of punk rock that takes aim at lad culture, toxic workplaces, far right politics, and gender dysphoria, often within the same record. Their 2023 EP You're Welcome put them on the map, partly funded by a lump sum Macieira Boşgelmez received after her father's death, and its cover art was a flaming pile of faeces. Their 2025 debut album Who Let the Dogs Out landed at No. 16 on the UK Albums Chart and No. 1 on the Rock and Metal Chart, pulling in praise from Pitchfork, The Guardian, Rolling Stone and plenty more. The album title came from an inside joke about the Baha Men song of the same name, which feels very on brand. Along the way they recorded a version of Depeche Mode's "Personal Jesus" with Iggy Pop for a Trevor Horn covers album, and they have never been shy about picking a fight with the people they think deserve one.
