Best known as the baritone-voiced frontman and lyricist of indie rock band The National, Matt Berninger has also carved out space beyond that group. He formed the side project EL VY with Brent Knopf of Ramona Falls and Menomena, releasing the album Return to the Moon in 2015. His solo debut Serpentine Prison followed in 2020, with a second solo record, Get Sunk, arriving in 2025.
