About
Nieve Ella makes the kind of guitar driven indie pop that hits hardest when it's painfully specific. Songs like "His Sofa" dig into romantic insecurity, "Glasshouses" processes grief, and "Your Room" somehow manages to fold a reference to Phoebe Bridgers into a story about an ex's new relationship. Her earlier sound drew from Billie Eilish, but a live Sam Fender show flipped a switch and her later work leaned into something grittier and more guitar forward. She released two EPs in 2023, Young & Naive and Lifetime of Wanting, which together landed at No. 38 on the UK Independent Album Chart when pressed to vinyl by Blood Records. Along the way she picked up some solid support slots, opening for Inhaler, the Courteeners, and Girl in Red, and she performed at Reading Festival alongside Hannah Grae. She is also part of Loud LDN, a collective of London based women and genderqueer musicians.
