Nothing But Thieves built their reputation the old fashioned way, grinding through support slots for Muse, Twenty One Pilots and Arcade Fire before their 2015 self titled debut landed at No. 7 on the UK Albums Chart and sent "Trip Switch" to No. 1 on the US Billboard Alternative airplay chart. The band from Southend on Sea has a sound that draws comparisons to Jeff Buckley, Queens of the Stone Age and Muse, though they've never been content to stay in one lane. Broken Machine, their 2017 follow up, pushed harder into politics and experimentation and peaked at No. 2 in the UK. Their fourth studio album, Dead Club City, released in June 2023, gave them their first UK No. 1, a milestone they reached after over a decade of relentless touring and steadily growing crowds. They also appeared on a collab with Purple Disco Machine and Duke Dumont that year.
