About
Also known as: Loumar
Oklou, the French artist behind some of the more adventurous corners of electronic pop, has built her sound across a run of EPs, a mixtape and now a proper debut album. Her 2020 mixtape Galore, made largely with Canadian collaborator Casey MQ, drew in names like A.G. Cook, Shygirl and Sega Bodega and landed on year end lists at Gorilla vs. Bear and Rough Trade. That record established her knack for blending dreamy, lo fi textures with something genuinely strange underneath. Her debut album Choke Enough arrived in February 2025 on Because Music, and the rollout featured some notable company: a track with Bladee, a collaboration with hyperpop artist Underscores, and Pitchfork describing the record as a twilit fusion of Y2K worship, Baroque polyphony and elegant, opaque ambiance. She has also worked alongside FKA twigs, with a joint video dropping in 2025. Before all this she co founded the Paris DJ collective TGAF, appeared on Flume's Palaces album, and toured the US supporting Caroline Polachek.
