About
Also known as: Prong!
New York's Prong have been bending metal into interesting shapes since 1986, built almost entirely around guitarist and vocalist Tommy Victor as its one constant member. The early records leaned hard into crossover thrash, but signing to Epic Records in 1990 kicked off a steady evolution: Beg to Differ brought them onto MTV's Headbangers Ball, and by 1994 the industrial tinged Cleansing had produced what remains their signature track, "Snap Your Fingers, Snap Your Neck". That album is still considered their finest hour, and they backed it up by opening for Sepultura and Pantera on massive tours. Epic dropped them after 1996's Rude Awakening, and the band fell apart, but Victor rebuilt Prong from scratch in 2002 and has kept it rolling ever since, releasing a string of albums through SPV including X, No Absolutes and Zero Days, and landing on Napalm Records for their 2026 self titled record.
