Most people know Ronan Keating as the voice of Boyzone, the Irish boyband he fronted from 1994, but his solo career turned out to have its own serious legs. He stepped out on his own in 1999 and found immediate success with the kind of warm, melodic pop and ballad style that fits neatly between soft rock and europop. Behind the scenes he also co created and managed Westlife, which says a lot about his instinct for what works in pop. He has hosted major events including the Eurovision Song Contest and the MTV Europe Music Awards, and has served as coach and judge on shows like The Voice and The X Factor across Australia, the UK and Germany. His 2021 release Heyday shows he is still very much in the game.
