Sixteen number one singles in the UK and Ireland is a remarkable run for any act, and Westlife built that record on an almost unstoppable streak from the moment they debuted in 1999. The Irish pop group from Sligo scored with their very first release, "Swear It Again", and kept that momentum going to become the only male band to have every single from a debut album reach number one in the UK. Over 55 million records sold, four Guinness World Records, and a legacy that spans twelve studio albums tell the rest of the story. After original member Brian McFadden left in 2004 to go solo, the remaining four, Shane Filan, Nicky Byrne, Kian Egan and Mark Feehily, carried on with albums like Face to Face and Gravity before calling it a day in 2012. They reunited in 2018 and have since released Spectrum and Wild Dreams, proving the appetite for their big pop ballad sound never really went away.
