About
Soak's name is a phonetic mash of "soul" and "folk", which tells you a fair bit about the sound. The Derry singer songwriter, real name Bridie Monds Watson, got a big early nod when they landed on the BBC Sound of 2015 long list, and The Guardian described the music as "a vivid portrait of teenage deep thinking." The debut single "Sea Creatures" arrived in January 2015, followed that May by the first album, Before We Forgot How to Dream. It went on to win the Irish Choice Music Prize Album of the Year, with the ceremony held at Vicar Street in Dublin. In 2022 they announced a third album, If I Never Know You Like This Again, and shared "Last July" as its first taste. Soak is non binary and uses they/them pronouns.
