About
The Brothers Comatose play a rowdy, high energy blend of bluegrass and rock that feels more like a backyard party than a concert hall performance. The San Francisco five piece, anchored by brothers Ben and Alex Morrison on guitar and banjo, built their sound around three part harmonies, Ben's warm gritty baritone, and a string band setup that nods to old time tradition while leaning hard into contemporary rock energy. Their influences run from Led Zeppelin and Creedence Clearwater Revival to folk Americana, which gives their records a rugged, twangy authenticity that's hard to fake. Since forming, they've released four albums, from Songs From The Stoop in 2010 through to Turning Up the Ground in 2022. They've headlined major festivals including Hardly Strictly Bluegrass and Outside Lands, and toured alongside acts like The Devil Makes Three and Lake Street Dive. Live, they're known for pulling the crowd in, think clapping, sing alongs, even passing out chopsticks for percussion.
