About
Chuck Prophet spent his early career as part of Green on Red, an alternative country rock band, before striking out on his own around 1990. Since then he has carved out a reputation as an all American rocker with an edge, drawing comparisons to Tom Petty, Alex Chilton and John Mellencamp. His twelfth album, Temple Beautiful, is a particular landmark in a catalog that spans many records. A special live configuration pairs Prophet and his own band with the string players of the Amsterdam String Ensemble, weaving orchestral textures into his guitar driven sound.
