About
Elles Bailey sings with a smoky, slightly husky voice that sits right at home in blues, rock and soul. She's an English singer who has worked her way to the front of the UK's Americana and roots scene, though she'd rather be seen as someone who mixes genres than someone who fits one box. Her songs slide easily between blues, country, soul and Americana, and they tend to be personal ones about perseverance, accepting yourself and connecting with other people. She has five studio albums to her name, including Can't Take My Story Away, a slightly more restrained record with roots numbers like Growing Roots and Better Days. Earlier records sometimes brought Beth Hart to mind. In 2024 she picked up Live Act of the Year at the UK Americana Awards and Vocalist of the Year at the UK Blues Awards, and she's generally at her best on stage with her tight band behind her.
