First Aid Kit is the Swedish folk duo you didn't know you needed: sisters Johanna and Klara Söderberg, whose intricately layered two part harmonies have won them fans far beyond Scandinavia. They first caught international attention in 2008 when their YouTube cover of Fleet Foxes' "Tiger Mountain Peasant Song" went viral after Fleet Foxes frontman Robin Pecknold praised it publicly. That moment landed them a deal with Wichita Records and kicked off a career that would span five albums and four EPs. Their country tinged folk sound draws on the likes of Emmylou Harris and Townes Van Zandt, and Rolling Stone placed their song "Emmylou" tenth on its Single of the Year list in 2012. They've earned Brit Award nominations in 2015, 2019 and 2023, cementing their place as one of the most consistently strong acts in contemporary folk.
