Five Finger Death Punch built their reputation the hard way, grinding through support slots with Korn and Disturbed before their debut album The Way of the Fist crossed 500,000 copies sold in the US. The Las Vegas heavy metal band, often shortened to 5FDP or FFDP, hit a whole new level with 2009's War Is the Answer, which went Platinum and pushed them into headline territory. Their run of Platinum and Gold certified records through the 2010s, covering albums like American Capitalist, Got Your Six, and And Justice for None, made them one of the most commercially consistent acts in modern heavy metal. The band has never been short of turbulence behind the scenes. Vocalist Ivan Moody famously checked into rehab during a tour, drummer Jeremy Spencer had to step away permanently due to back problems, and guitarist Jason Hook was eventually replaced by British guitarist Andy James. Through all the lineup shuffles, Moody and founding guitarist Zoltan Bathory have remained the constants. Their ninth album AfterLife arrived in 2022, and as of 2025 they have ten studio albums to their name.
