Oxford outfit Foals have built one of the more restless discographies in British rock, moving from the twitchy math rock of their 2008 debut Antidotes to the sprawling, arena scaled ambition of the Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost two parter in 2019, the second half of which became their first UK number one album. Seven studio records in, and the band led by Greek born vocalist and guitarist Yannis Philippakis keeps shifting shape without losing the thread. Along the way they picked up a reputation as a ferocious live act, winning best live act at the 2013 Q Awards and playing stages at Glastonbury, Coachella and Roskilde. Tracks like Spanish Sahara took on a life beyond the band, turning up in Misfits, Life is Strange and Entourage, while Holy Fire, produced by Flood and Alan Moulder, sharpened their sound into something harder and more focused. Their most recent album, Life Is Yours, arrived in 2022.
