Few artists blend electronic production with raw emotional weight quite like James Blake. The London born singer, songwriter and producer built his reputation through a run of EPs in 2010, including CMYK and Klavierwerke, before his self titled debut album in 2011 cracked the UK top ten and drew widespread critical attention. His falsetto and soulful light head voice are immediately recognizable, sitting somewhere between soul, post dubstep and experimental electronics. His career has only expanded from there. Overgrown, Assume Form, and subsequent albums pushed further into R&B and collaborative territory, with credits alongside Beyoncé, Kendrick Lamar, Frank Ocean and Kanye West, among others. He has won a Mercury Prize and two Grammys from a string of nominations, and released a collaborative album with Lil Yachty called Bad Cameo in 2024. His seventh studio album, Trying Times, followed in 2026, showing no sign of slowing down.
