About
Kevin Morby spent time as the bassist for noise folk outfit Woods and one half of the Babies before striking out on his own, and the solo path has suited him well. His 2013 debut Harlem River was a love letter to New York City, but his sound has kept stretching since then, folding in gospel overtones on Oh My God, wide open Midwestern space on Sundowner, and memoir like intimacy on This Is a Photograph. Oh My God hit number two on Billboard's Heatseekers chart and pulled nearly unanimous praise from critics. He has collaborated with Waxahatchee on a Velvet Underground cover and a pair of Jason Molina tribute tracks, and teamed up with Hamilton Leithauser for the 2021 single Virginia Beach. His eighth album, Little Wide Open, arrived in 2026, with a lyric video for the track Badlands giving fans an early taste.
