Laura Cox built her reputation the old school way, posting guitar cover videos on YouTube from 2008 onward, and racking up millions of views before most people had even heard the word "influencer". The French guitarist plays rock, hard rock, and southern rock with a tone rooted in classic Les Paul territory, running through Orange amplifiers, and her influences are worn proudly on her sleeve: AC/DC, Slash, Mark Knopfler. In 2013 she formed the Laura Cox Band in the Paris region, moving from bedroom player to frontwoman. The band released Hard Blues Shot in 2017, and Cox has kept rolling as a solo act since then, with Burning Bright in 2019 and Head Above Water in 2023 showing a guitarist fully in command of her own voice. Her most recent album, Trouble Coming, dropped in 2025. She plays Gibson Les Paul and Bacchus guitars, and her sound sits somewhere between the crunch of classic rock and the warmth of country rock.
