Few artists have landed as hard as Olivia Rodrigo did with her debut. When 'Drivers License' dropped in January 2021, it broke Spotify's record for most daily streams twice in the same week, peaking at over 17 million streams in a single day. The debut album Sour followed that spring, spent five weeks at the top of the Billboard 200, and critics were calling her the voice of Generation Z before she was even 20. What makes her stand out is the way she blends pop punk energy with raw, confessional songwriting, her influences running from No Doubt and Green Day through to Taylor Swift. Sour gave way to Guts in 2023, and the lead single 'Vampire' debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 100, making Rodrigo the first artist to have the lead single from each of her first three albums go straight to the top of that chart. She has three Grammy Awards to her name, including Best New Artist and Best Pop Album, and Billboard named her Woman of the Year in 2022.
