About

Razorlight built their reputation on sharp, energetic indie rock out of London, and their trajectory from scrappy unsigned act to UK chart toppers is pretty remarkable. Fronted by the mercurial Johnny Borrell, they scored a number one single with "America" in 2006, the same year their self titled second album debuted at the top of the UK Albums Chart. Their debut, Up All Night, had already reached number three, and singles like "Somewhere Else" and "In the Morning" kept them a near constant presence on the charts. They shared stages with Queen, Oasis and The Rolling Stones, and played Live 8 and Live Earth within two years of each other. After releasing their third album Slipway Fires in 2008, the band gradually fell apart, with drummer Andy Burrows departing in 2009 and the group officially splitting in 2014. Borrell eventually brought Razorlight back together in 2017, reuniting with founding members Björn Ågren and Carl Dalemo for the album Olympus Sleeping, released in 2018.
