About
Ron Pope writes the kind of songs that end up soundtracking TV shows and going platinum without a major label machine behind them. The Georgia born, Nashville based singer songwriter co wrote 'A Drop in the Ocean' with Zach Berkman, a track that quietly became a certified platinum hit and found its way onto shows like The Vampire Diaries, So You Think You Can Dance, and 90210. Before going solo, Pope was part of The District, a college band that toured for two years and put out three albums together. He has released four solo studio albums independently through Brooklyn Basement Records, the label he runs with his wife Blair Clark. Rolling Stone praised his Nashville era release 'Work' for its range of influences pulled together by a steady songwriting voice. He has also performed at Carnegie Hall as part of a benefit concert celebrating Aretha Franklin's music, which says something about the kind of company his songwriting puts him in.
