About
Spiritbox built their following almost entirely online before ever setting foot on a stage, and it paid off massively. The Victoria, BC metalcore and progressive metal outfit, fronted by vocalist Courtney LaPlante and guitarist Mike Stringer, dropped the single "Holy Roller" in July 2020 and watched it debut at No. 25 on Billboard Hot Hard Rock Songs, then sit at No. 1 on SiriusXM Liquid Metal's Devil's Dozen for seven straight weeks. Their debut album Eternal Blue followed in 2021 and entered the US Billboard 200 at No. 13, a remarkable chart position for a band so young. LaPlante's vocal range is a real weapon, moving between clean R&B influenced singing and brutal heavy passages, and the band weaves in electronic elements alongside the metalcore crunch. Since Eternal Blue they have kept busy with EPs Rotoscope and The Fear of Fear, and their second studio album Tsunami Sea arrived in early 2025.
