Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers are a four piece from Canberra whose sound sits somewhere between riot grrrl fury and polished indie rock, and they've been building serious momentum since their debut EP Pretty Good for a Girl Band landed in 2022. That release won Best Independent Punk Album or EP at the AIR Awards, and the title itself came straight from dismissive remarks made by listeners who were surprised the band could play at all. Their debut full length I Love You followed in 2023, peaking at number 6 on the ARIA Albums Chart, and the band opened for Foo Fighters in Australia that same year. Lyrics are a big deal for the group. Vocalist Anna Ryan has talked about wanting to make music that feels relatable and meaningful, particularly for women, and songs like Girl Sports back that up with real specificity. The band went on to open for Pearl Jam across the US in May 2025, and their second album Glory dropped in November 2025. Most recently they put out the single Balcony, with a fresh music video to match.
