Also known as: Anna Mae Bullock, Little Ann, T.Turner, Tina Tor, Tina Tuner, TinaTurner, Tine Turner, Turner, Tina, ティナ・ターナー
Tina Turner earned the nickname "Queen of Rock 'n' Roll" the hard way, first as the fiery lead voice of Ike & Tina Turner, whose live shows with the Ikettes became legendary, and then by rebuilding herself as a solo star after leaving Ike in 1976. The comeback was massive. Private Dancer in 1984 went multi platinum, and "What's Love Got to Do with It" won Record of the Year and gave her her only number one on the Billboard Hot 100. She also sang the theme to the Bond film GoldenEye. She was a monster on the road too. Her Break Every Rule World Tour was the biggest of the 1980s for a female artist, and a 1988 show in Rio de Janeiro drew a record paying crowd for a solo act. She picked up 12 Grammys, appeared in Tommy, Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome and Last Action Hero, and sold an estimated 100 million records worldwide. She retired from performing in 2009 and later settled in Switzerland.
