About
Harm Coolen and Merijn Scholte Albers make up Weval, an Amsterdam electronic duo that has been building its reputation since 2013 through cinematic, emotionally layered productions. Their sound sits somewhere between the atmospheric and the physical, and over the years they have earned a following well beyond the Netherlands. Their album Chorophobia marks a shift toward the dance floor, leaning into faster tempos, unexpected breaks and driving basslines. Alongside their recorded work, Weval run a club concept under the same name, taking it to cities including London, Paris and Berlin, where they step away from the live stage and play extended DJ sets instead.
