HAEVN started almost by accident: film soundtrack composer Jorrit Kleijnen and singer songwriter Marijn van der Meer wrote a couple of songs for a BMW commercial, those tracks caught fire internationally through Shazam, and suddenly there was a band to build. Based in Amsterdam, they blend cinematic piano and strings with indie pop in a way that sits somewhere between London Grammar and a film score, which makes sense given that producer Tim Bran worked with both acts. Their debut album Eyes Closed landed at number one on iTunes when it was released internationally in 2018, earning them a Gold Record for the single Finding Out More. They followed that up with Symphonic Tales, a live EP recorded with a 50 piece orchestra, and in 2024 released their second studio album Wide Awake, with singles including Promise, Beginners and One Day.
